Two timely books

Via boxofdelights, the University of Chicago Press is offering a free ebook of The Torture Letters: Reckoning with Police Violence by Laurence Ralph until June 6th. They're a little finicky about how they'll let you access it, but it's a worthwhile if inevitably painful read.

And via courtneymilan, Verso Books is offering free downloads of The End of Policing by Alex S. Vitale. I haven't read it yet myself, but from the publisher summary:
