The first two installments of the series From This Day Forward by flawedamethyst, which is MCU Regency AU marriage of convenience, with gallant veteran Bucky rescuing Clint from his abusive father's home (by proposing). It's gentle, chock full of of enjoyable appearances by other Marvel characters, and has (what seems to me like) a really lovely portrayal of Clint's fluctuating level of hearing. Thanks again for the rec, violsva!

Also recced by violsva, this time as an example of OT3 mutual pining: Oblivious by Sholio is 6k of Jack Thompson from Agent Carter trying and failing to convince himself that he isn't in love with Peggy and Daniel, he's just sick of watching them make eyes at each other. Content note: major injury and hospitalization.

I'm halfway into Welcome to the Rock by SloanGreyMercyDeath, which is this month's fic for POI book club. This one breaks out of the Finch/Reese mold of the last couple of fics and gives us a Root trying to figure out why Shaw's running so hot and cold... in space, while also secretly fighting a corrupt interplanetary government! And also sometimes wrestling an alien plant that eats fire, nbd.

testosterone (sounds like a spell) by pauraque is a fantastic post-series Justin Finch-Fletchley/Hannah Abbott fic with a dual focus on their developing relationship and on his experiences as a trans man in and out of the wizarding world. Femdom! Terminology issues! Trying to make a slightly better world! Content note: in addition to the tagged-for mentions of transphobia and homophobia, the fic starts with a moderately detailed description of an injection.

I've also enjoyed a few different DA:I fics by maliwanhellfire, of which I think my favorite was Ouroboros, in which Dorian is stuck in a time loop and just too fucking tired to pretend otherwise this time around. Humor and feelings, the best of combinations! Content notes: near-fatal injury and dubiously consensual drugging.

I also read and luxuriated in the novel Docile by K M Szpara, but I think maybe I'll save my thoughts on that for another post. In the meantime, the first six chapters are available for free, if SFnal decadence and m/m dubcon are your kind of thing!

PLAYED

Terraria, for about an hour, the entirety of which was hilarious. I was graphically murdered by slimes! I built a house with no door and immediately trapped myself inside it! Then I dug a trench so I could escape, which was pretty nice, although once I installed a door, it took me another small eternity to figure out how to open it.

I also accidentally captured a goldfish in the trench outside my home, deliberately caught it within said home, and then accidentally slaughtered it. This is a strange and brutal game, or at least it becomes one when I play it.

Stumptown spoilers for episode 1x16, "All Quiet on the Dextern Front":

Oh, Dex.

I really appreciate the show just presenting it as the obviously right thing to do, to stand up against torture and report your superiors if they don't back down. And then I was kind of baffled and/or troubled that Dex felt so bad about it... until, yeah. Traumatic grief will mess a person up, and guilt is literally a textbook reaction.

Poor Dex.

It was wonderful to see Sue-Lynn, though, as always. And Ansel and his crush were so cute! And I really love Miles and his work buddy Kara playing off each other. She's always such a fun character!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine through episode 7x7, "Ding Dong". Thoroughly enjoyable, even if I don't seem to have much to say. I love that Holt speaks Russian now! And the Wuntch arc was honestly pretty fun.

Sym-Bionic Titan through episode 1x08, "Shadows of Youth". That and "Showdown at Sherman High" were both pretty fun! I love Octus, and anything involving characters interacting with words and/or feelings is going to engage me more than the action sequences. Entirely cromulent insomnia viewing.
