Flashpoint 2x10 "One Wrong Move"
Feb. 28th, 2018 11:05 pmSpoilers:
Not cool, show.
And this is right after "Exit Wounds", too, which -- despite featuring several interesting and multifaceted black characters -- also featured Greg and Ed threatening a (black) suspect they had safely cuffed and in custody, and unless I blinked and missed it, Wordy fabricating an offense never committed (by that same black man).
Which of course is all absolutely standard for cop shows in love with violence, but it was disheartening to see this series veer so far from its usual standard in an episode notably revolving around black guest stars.
If "One Wrong Move" existed in a world without racism, or in a show with a mostly black cast, I would probably say it was a beautiful episode, though devastating. I mean, Lewis and Spike? I love them. So much.
But as it is, I'm disappointed.
