Spoilers!
WTF, making the evil witch Romani? Or did she just speak Romani?
Or, I'm sorry, "Romani Greek". Except, as far as I can tell -- which is only as far as Wikipedia can tell me, so this may well be bullshit, and I'd be glad to be enlightened if it is -- Romani has nothing at all to do with Greek, except that there is, or was, a mixed language sometimes called Romano-Greek... one of whose selling points was always that it cannot be understood by people who speak only Greek, so that wouldn't seem to fit either.
All linguistic geekery aside, though -- what was up with that, seriously? It left a bad taste in my mouth.
Otherwise, this show is goofy as hell (IDK, is it? I am so far from being a horror fan, I have no familiarity with the aesthetic), but could maybe grow on me. I really want to get to know Jenny, although I have a feeling that I'm going to have at best a love/hate relationship with how this show deals with mental illness -- our heroes are necessarily coded as "crazy", because they have knowledge that consensus reality rejects, but at the same time it's crucial that they aren't actually delusional; the things they experience and believe in are objectively real, it's just that other people haven't seen them or won't admit to their truth. Maybe Abbie should give me hope, though: she's doubted herself for a long time, but it hasn't stopped her from being awesome.
Other high points included John Cho reappearing after all, even if it was just to wander around looking like death warmed over; the ongoing question of whether Tom Mison's legs ever stop; and above all else, the post-it notes. OMG, the meticulous helpful little post-it notes!
The post-it notes were love.
