READ
Much of fanfic, as usual. My favorite might be A Fire and a Conflagration by
iodhadh, which is 16k of Doran and Iron Bull exchanging poems that start out merely ribald and grow increasingly intimate. (My favorite poem is around two-thirds of the way through, on a celestial theme, but to get the full effect, I think you have to read from the beginning.)
Returning to the theme of things fannish osmosis does and does not convey, I'm kind of tickled that (Dragon Age spoilers) I only in the past week learned that Maevaris Tilani is transgender. That's so many fic authors who've included her as a character without bringing up her gender history when it wasn't relevant! I guess I shouldn't be surprised, when I've never noticed anything unsavory in how Krem is portrayed in the fic I've read, but after my unhappy surprise last week, I just really appreciate that so many fans have been cool about this.
Plus now I love her even more, obviously. What an icon.
WATCHED
The Good Place 4x07, "Help Is Other People" spoilers:
Well, this wasn't as bad as I'd feared it might be after I accidentally read
NussbaumAbigail's thread about it -- or maybe I mean, if it is that bad, I'm still holding out hope that they'll redeem it? They're clearly doing something with Brent's presence and the pressures he puts on the the other characters; it just remains to be seen whether that something will hold together and be worth it.
I am a little sad that Chidi and Simone broke up, though. Don't get me wrong, I loved him and Eleanor, but having them be somehow fated to be together or obviously superior to all other possible romantic pairings feels kind of weird to me in a show about the inspiring unpredictability of human nature. Plus, Simone is amazing! And can't we give Eleanor and Tahani a chance?
Doctor Who spoilers through the 2017 special "Twice Upon a Time":
I can't believe they really brought Heather back to whisk Bill off into an eternity of adventure! I wanted them to do that, but I can't believe they actually did! That's so wonderful! I loved that!
But I'm going to miss Bill so much. I've loved almost all of the companions, but I think Bill has been my favorite. I'm looking forward to the Thirteenth Doctor, don't get me wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be sad that Bill never got to meet her. Let Bill and a lady Doctor kiss, you cowards!
...You might notice that I've said nothing about "Twice Upon a Time", and I guess that's because I have nothing really to say about it. Testimony seems like a cool project, and I like that for once it wasn't an evil plot? Um.
Oh wait, actually I do have one more very important thing to say! And that is:
Thank you so much for that explicit confirmation of your standing D/S relationship with her, Doctor!
Also, inspired by two intriguing posts by
giandujakiss, I've started watching Stumptown and am now four episodes in! I was starting to write a little summary of what I love about it, but actually, I think I'm going to sit on that and give it a post of its own once I'm caught up. It's really fun, though -- not particularly complex, but refreshing.

Tell me what to do, then. Bill Potts would tell me what to do.
