Ahh, wondering if you and the book could have parted ways, I can get. (I do theoretically understand that no book is truly perfect, but it's a little hard for me to feel the truth of that when it comes to hers!)
Half the Day is Night is probably my least favorite of her novels, but it still sets a very high bar. I'm not sure it has any images as unforgettable as the architecture software in China Mountain Zhang, but the future tech and social commentary are (as I recall) very good. And I'm fond of the protagonist.
